Last week I got an e-mail from a chap called Ed. Ed has made a little program for Symbian devices called Txt2Lock which basically does exactly what it says on the tin.
One thing that bugs the hell out of me when I lose a phone (a regular occurance) isn’t the fact I’ve actually lost it. It’s more the thought that some little scrote is using MY phone. Yeah I know, at soe point it’s gonna get locked for calls, but he could still use it as an MP3 player, watch videos, all sorts of goodness.
This is where Txt2Lock comes in. I’m gonna do a full review in a few days when I get the final version for the N95 but the long and short of it is that it makes the phone completely frigging useless. No calls, data is encrypted. Even the screen goes off. And only you can turn it back on!
Serious, it’s cracking and it’s only gonna be 6 quid for normal people. I say normal people because if you’re reading this blog (Reading this blog makes you a super special person, not a normal person) you’ll get a discount off it. when I do the full review, I’ll be sticking a promo code on here for you lucky lucky people.
Stay tuned.
